HKSSPC2020 – Presentation Skills Workshop

The Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition (HKSSPC) 2020 Presentation Skills Workshop was successfully held in Hong Kong Science Park on 21 December 2019. The organizers invited Ms. Olivia Tsang from The Department of Communication Studies, Hong Kong Baptist University to be the Guest Speaker, to talk about presentation skills.  Participants learned different skills and applied in practice, showed enthusiasm and creativity. It is believed that all participants gained a lot from the workshop, we hope that students do not only apply the skills on competition, but also in daily life.  Students can also download the workshop powerpoint for reference.

HKSSPC2020 – Experimental Training Workshops

The Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition (HKSSPC) 2020 Experimental Training Workshops were successfully held in the Centre for Creative Science and Technology in the Hong Kong Science Park on 21 December 2019 and 4 January 2020. Participants could learn more about experimental design and have fun with science. They had shown high engagement and worked as little scientists, in these experimental workshops. We hope the workshop could give participants a better idea of conducting experiments for a research topic or investigation. Students can also download the workshop PowerPoint for reference.

HKSSPC2020 – Sharing Session with Advisors

The Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition (HKSSPC) 2020 Sharing Session with Advisors has been successfully held in the Hong Kong Science Museum on 16th January. The event attracted 112 teachers and students from 27 local schools to participate. It is our honor to invite 9 professors from different universities to share their knowledge and experience in science exploration to participants, and to provide professional advice or directions in improving the students’ projects. Extension of Project Submission Deadline to 1 March 2020 (HK Students)

Due to postponement of resumption of class, the HKSSPC Secretariat would like to give more time for teams to prepare and finish their projects, the deadline for Project Submission to HKSSPC 2020 is extended to 1 March 2020 23:59 (Sun). Registered teams please be reminded to submit the project online on or before the deadline. We wish you all a healthy and happy year of the Rat.

Postponement of HKSSPC2020 (Non-HK students)

In view of the latest development of novel coronavirus in the community, the International Division of Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition (HKSSPC) 2020 originally scheduled from 19 – 23 March will be rescheduled to 13 – 18 August.  The deadline for Project Registration is extended to 1 May 2020 23:59 (Fri). Please be reminded to upload your project through our online system by the deadline. Postponement of HKSSPC2020

Latest Arrangement of HKSSPC 2020

In consideration of the development of COVID-19, the Initial Judging and Final Judging of HKSSPC 2020 will be changed to closed-door format.   Initial Judging The Initial Judging will be held on 15 August 2020 (Sat) and conducted either physically in the Hong Kong Science Park or virtually via Zoom Cloud Meetings. There will not be project exhibition. The judging of the Junior Division will be in the morning (9:00 am – 11:00 am) and the judging of the Senior Division will be in the afternoon (1:00 pm – 3:00 pm). Latest Arrangement of HKSSPC 2020

In view of the latest development of COVID-19 and subsequent tightened up measures announced by the Education Bureau, the Initial Judging and Final Judging of HKSSPC 2020 will only be conducted ONLINE via video conferencing applications.  all teams should strictly follow the guidelines of EDB (ref: EDB(SDCT)3/PRO/10/1/1), which no face-to-face contact and activities related to HKSSPC 2020 should be conducted in any circumstance, including but not limited to performing experiment, data collection and discussion, etc. Members of teams are strongly advised to work individually at home on data analysis and report writing, and all discussion should be performed through online […]
