Due to the suspension of face-to-face classes and school activities, the Secretariat would like to allow more time for participants to form teams and develop their project directions and titles. The Deadline for Nomination of Projects of HKSSPC 2021 will be extended to 23:59 hours on 17 January 2021 (Sun). The training workshops will also be postponed, please refer to the updated timetable on website.

The Final Judging of the Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2020 was successfully held online on 16 August (Sun), outstanding teams with their creative inventions and research results were awarded. This year we received over 200 teams of enrollment and 89 teams presented their projects in front of judges in the Initial Judging on 15 August (Sat), 21 outstanding teams were shortlisted to the Final Judging. The Initial Judging of HKSSPC 2020 will be held on 15 August (Sat) via online video conferencing platform, 20 finalists will be selected to attend the Final Judging on the next day to compete for the champion.  This year, the Final Judging and Award Presentation Ceremony will be held online on 16 August (Sun) and live-streamed to http://www.facebook.com/hkfygccst for public viewing and engagement in the Public Q&A session. All are cordially invited to join Facebook Live to learn more about students’ outstanding projects.

In view of the latest development of COVID-19 and subsequent tightened up measures announced by the Education Bureau, the Initial Judging and Final Judging of HKSSPC 2020 will only be conducted ONLINE via video conferencing applications.  all teams should strictly follow the guidelines of EDB (ref: EDB(SDCT)3/PRO/10/1/1), which no face-to-face contact and activities related to HKSSPC 2020 should be conducted in any circumstance, including but not limited to performing experiment, data collection and discussion, etc. Members of teams are strongly advised to work individually at home on data analysis and report writing, and all discussion should be performed through online […]

In consideration of the development of COVID-19, the Initial Judging and Final Judging of HKSSPC 2020 will be changed to closed-door format.   Initial Judging The Initial Judging will be held on 15 August 2020 (Sat) and conducted either physically in the Hong Kong Science Park or virtually via Zoom Cloud Meetings. There will not be project exhibition. The judging of the Junior Division will be in the morning (9:00 am – 11:00 am) and the judging of the Senior Division will be in the afternoon (1:00 pm – 3:00 pm).
