The Presentation Skills Workshop was held on 10 April (Sat) from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Conference Hall 04 – 07, Phase 2, Hong Kong Science Park. We invited Mr. Calvin Lam to be the instructor, to introduce the keys of presentation and speaking skills. Participants actively interact with the instructor and follow the guidelines to practice different skills. It is believed that all participants have learnt a lot from the workshop, we hope that students could apply what they learnt not only to the competition, but also to the daily life.

Two sessions of the Experimental Design Workshops were held on 3 April (Sat) and 5 April (Mon) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm respectively at the HKFYG Centre for Creative Science and Technology.  Under the guidance of the instructor, participants could learn more about experimental design and conduct experiment base on different topics, and test their hypothesis. They were highly engaged and attentive in the workshop and worked as little scientists to finish the challenge. The Design Thinking Workshop was held on 3 April (Sat) from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at Conference Hall 01 – 02, Phase I, Hong Kong Science Park. During the workshop, participants actively engaged in different sessions, put themselves into the set scenes, and thought from the users’ actual needs, unleash their creativity to work out innovative solutions towards the problems. The Data Analysis Workshop was successfully held on 5 April (Mon) from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at Conference Hall 01 – 02, Phase I, The Hong Kong Science Park. We have invited Dr. Jack Wong and Dr. Dicky Law from the University of Hong Kong to be the guest speakers, to introduce the basic knowledge of data analysis and related techniques to our participants. The Literature Review Webinar was held on 29 March (Mon) from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm, we have invited Prof. Edwin Chan from the School of Life Sciences of The Chinese University of Hong Kong to be the speaker, he shared with the participants about the importance of literature review and his scientific research journey.

The Deadline for Nomination of Project of the Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2021 is 23:59 hours on 14 March 2021 (Sun).  There are three major divisions for the competition, namely “Scientific Wallchart Division“, “Junior Division“, “Senior Division“, all secondary school students are welcomed to join the Competition.
