Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2022 has successfully held today, each participating team showcased their projects in front of the judges, it is encouraging to see such great and innovative works of students under different constraint of the epidemic. HKSSPC 2021 Overseas Competition – GENIUS Olympiad 2022

2 champion teams from the Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition were nominated to represent Hong Kong to join the GENIUS Olympiad 2022 virtually. The Competition is organized by the TERRA Science and Education in the United States. The students competed with 821 finalist teams from 57 countries / regions for the grand prizes, Hong Kong teams achieved outstanding results from the Competition. HKSSPC 2021 Overseas Competition – TISF 2022

The Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition (HKSSPC) 2021 nominated 2 champion teams to represent Hong Kong to join the Taiwan International Science Fair (TISF) 2022 on 26 January 2022. The competition is organized by the National Taiwan Science Education Center. In light of the latest development of the COVID-19 epidemic and further suspension of face-to-face classes and school activities, all events of the Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition (HKSSPC) 2022 will be postponed. HKSSPC 2021 Overseas Competition – KSEF 2021

The Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition (HKSSPC) 2021 has nominated 10 winning teams to join the Korea Science and Engineering Fair 2021 virtually from 14 January to 16 January 2022. Hong Kong teams compete with 94 international teams from 11 countries/regions for the grand prizes, and they all achieved great results from the competition. HKSSPC 2022 Yuen Long Bypass Floodway Guided Eco-tour

The Yuen Long Bypass Floodway Guided Eco-tour was successfully held on December 30 (Thursday) from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. A total of 15 students and 3 teachers joined the guided tour. Two guides from the Green Power led the participants to visit different sites and introduced DSD’s flood prevention works and the conservation of the river ecosystem, allowing them to gain a better understanding of the river ecology and biodiversity in Hong Kong.

HKSSPC 2022 Design Thinking Workshop

The Design Thinking Workshop was held on 28 December (Tue) from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at Conference Hall 01 – 02, Phase I, Hong Kong Science Park. During the workshop, participants actively engaged in different sessions, including the group interaction, user experience, users interview for feedback, idea brainstorming, and put themselves into the set scenes, thought from the users’ actual needs, unleash their creativity to work out innovative solutions towards the problems. HKSSPC 2022 Experimental Design Workshop

Two sessions of the Experimental Design Workshops were held on 18 December (Sat) and 28 December (Tue) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm respectively at the Hong Kong Science Park. Participants learned the idea of experimental design from the workshop, they designed their own paper helicopters and conducted scientific experiments by changing different independent variables to find the answers. It is believed that the workshops could allow the participants to realize the importance of experiments in scientific research, learn more about the steps and techniques of experimental design, as well as actively apply in science development in the future.
